Welcome to new member Czeslawa!

“It’s my husband’s fault.  He saw some early school pencil drawings of flowers up in the attic, liked them and bought me an oil painting set. With no idea of how to use it, little was achieved until I joined a local art class; and that was over 30 years ago. My subjects are varied, covering flora and fauna, transport, landscapes, holiday memories, and anything else that takes my fancy, though my husband and the family try desperately to get me to focus on the painting of animals. I use oils, watercolours, pastels and acrylics depending on whichever I feel is most appropriate for the subject in hand. My husband is so keen to help he’s even put a website together for me. This can be viewed at www.czartsales.online.”

Well done Mary Anne!

One of our newer members, Mary Anne Adlam, won the November Theme Night with her painting of Stormy Skies which was painted entirely on the night (2 hours).

Welcome to New Member, Paula!

‘I’m originally from Bolton but moved to Whittle 4 years ago with my husband Morgan. I have an A level in Art but haven’t really done much since other than a few sketches here and there. My husband bought me an art set a couple of Christmases ago and I’ve started to do a bit more, mainly working in colour pencil or acrylic. Looking to pick up some tips from other members and the speakers and meeting some new people in general.’ We look forward to meeting Paula when meetings resume.

And Welcome Back Bernard Hilton!

Congratulations to Chloe, our newest member, for winning the August competition ‘Blue Planet’. Nice work Chloe!

A big welcome to our newest member Chloe Hutchings. She told me ‘I used to work behind the bar when art group was on, and loved helping my brother (Jonathan) paint.

I’ve now moved home from Manchester, and due to lockdown I’ve been getting back into painting.

I’d love to become a member and hopefully join you all again soon to paint! I’ve attached a watercolour painting of the pregnant Robin I had in our garden. It’s my first time using watercolours in years’. Chloe’s brother Jonathan painted the lovely cow shown on the home page. It’s great to have them both with us!

We meet every Wednesday at 7.30 pm at Brinscall and Withnell Athletic and Recreational Association, School Lane, Brinscall, Lancashire, PR6 8PT.

We now have a private Facebook page – Lodge Artists Show and Tell – where members share ideas, discuss current projects and share info about exhibitions etc.
